On June 15, 2022, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued drinking water health advisories for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). The advisories relate to Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA) and Perfluorooctane Sulfinate (PFOS).
The Judicial Panel on Multi-District Litigation (JPML) granted Levin Papantonio Rafferty’s (LPR) application to consolidate Medtronic Covidien hernia mesh cases into multidistrict litigation (MDL). Currently, 73 such product liability lawsuits are pending in seven district courts across the country, and that number is expected to grow.

I have received your message, and I want you to know I appreciate your concerns, and I understand why you’re reaching out to me.
You want to know what’s happening with Florida Power & Light (FPL). You want to know what we’re doing to help you.
On May 12, 2022, LPR Attorneys Mike Papantonio and Troy Rafferty, along with LPR Investigator Carol Moore, traveled to Marianna, Florida, to walk the site of a horrific tragedy—one that lasted over 100 years. The Arthur G. Dozier School for Boys (formerly known as the Florida School for Boys) was a “reformatory” school from 1900 to 2011. Far from reforming, the goals of this institution were to exploit, beat, torture, and sometimes murder the boys who were sent there. The town knew. The courts knew. Police, legislators, and regulators knew. Nobody did a thing to stop it.
The Pensacola, Florida based law firm Levin Papantonio Rafferty is investigating possible claims involving a formerly registered broker C. Ronald Patton (a/k/a Clarence Ronald Patton or Ron Patton), who was previously registered with Alexander Capital, L.P., Cetera Advisor Networks LLC, and Summit Brokerage Services, Inc.
Broker Kevin Mark Nevin, a previously registered broker and investment advisor, has been barred by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) from acting as a broker or other associating with any broker-dealer firm. BrokerCheck has published the details of the barring on its website.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has called out Philips Respironics for its inadequate efforts in notifying patients, suppliers, and healthcare providers of a massive recall of some of the company’s breathing assistance devices. On March 10, 2022, the agency ordered the company to notify these users of the recall and the products’ risks.
Recently, Ascension Michigan notified patients that an unauthorized individual was able to gain access to the company’s electronic health record system, resulting in personally identifiable information (PII) being compromised. Ascension Michigan detected “suspicious activity” in the organization’s Electronic Health Record (EHR), and on November 30, the hospital system’s investigation revealed that an unauthorized individual had inappropriately accessed patient data.
On February 7, 2022, the National Math and Science Initiative (NMSI) sent notifications to 191,255 people, alerting them of a data security incident that exposed personally identifiable information (PPI).
