Troy Rafferty has been selected to receive the “Living the Dream” Award, from the founders of the “Living the Dream and Tribute to Motown” event, a venue to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s “dream” and honor those Pensacola natives and residents who exemplify his legacy.
There were more than sixty nominations, and Mr. Rafferty was selected because of his generous contributions to the community and the Southern Youth Sports Association. He’ll be presented the award at this year’s “Living the Dream & A Tribute to Motown” celebration, January 15, at New World Landing in Downtown Pensacola.
“I am both honored and humbled,” said Rafferty. “I am looking forward to the event on the 15th.”
Mr. Rafferty has been with the Levin Papantonio Law Firm and actively involved with the Pensacola area community for more than twenty years, as a philanthropist. He also funds two local scholarships under his name (The Rafferty Scholarship/Award), which are awarded annually to two area high school prep athletes. Each of the area high schools also competes to be awarded the Rafferty Cup for excellence in athletic achievement.
Mr. Rafferty has been recognized numerous times for his tremendous legal talent, litigating mass tort, pharmaceutical, and major personal injury cases throughout the country. He was a recipient of the 2016 Perry Nichols Award from the Florida Justice Association, the highest award given by the organization and presented to an attorney who is committed to the civil justice system.
Other honors include being named in the publication, The Best Lawyers in America and The Legal 500. He has also been recognized as one of Florida's top lawyers by Florida Super Lawyers, awarded an AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell legal directory, and selected by the American Trial Lawyers Association as one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers and he is a fellow in the International Society of Barristers.
